About the Job
An outpatient healthcare organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Oncology staff in Manhattan. In this role, the Staff Nurse (RN) will be responsible for the overall assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care at the facility.
Responsibilities:
The Staff Nurse (RN) will:
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, place IVs
- Listen to patient and caregiver questions and give well informed answers in a way patients and caregivers can understand
- Ensure appropriate assessment of patients with acute and chronic problems related to cancer and cancer therapies
- Develop and maintain an excellent level of patient centric care
- Oversee and coordinate with Research Coordinators and Research Nurses for patient enrollment and compliance for clinical trials or protocols
- Participate in all Quality Improvement projects by providing input as it pertains to nursing components for safe and efficient patient care
- Perform other job-related duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Nursing experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- Computer savvy
Desired Skills:
- Previous Oncology experience, including previous Radiation Oncology
- Working knowledge of Oncology Information Systems
