Bednark Studio is seeking skilled carpenters for onsite install work for our Freelance Call List and Fashion Week installs
This work is a good fit for someone who is looking for additional work shifts or has off-hours, weekend availability.
Some installation activities may occur during the evening and overnight hours. Installations are typically scheduled about two weeks in advance, when possible. There may be weeks where no work is available.
The onsite carpenter is responsible for assisting in the installation of custom builds and must have knowledge of special event fabrication, staging, and installing retail displays.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as an installer on the job site and helps manage the site activities to ensure the install is completed on time.
- Troubleshoot issues with Project Manager + Install Lead.
- Load equipment and tools properly on company vehicles for delivery and work in the field.
- Able to take direction from Job Lead.
- Able to have professional interactions with other team members, clients, store employees, and customers.
- Demonstrates responsible attendance and punctuality.
- Ensure employees follow all safety regulations on job sites.
- Attends scouts and meetings leading up to the installation as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be experienced with hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery.
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Possess the ability to follow directions, plans, blueprints, and sketches.
- Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and possible holidays to meet the varied needs of the event industry.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess professional interpersonal skills to interact with clients.
- Strong working computer and mobile devices knowledge.
- Must be accurate, detail orientated – with the ability to operate well under pressure.
- Ability to multi-task and stay focused on critical objectives.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2-5 years of on-site installation experience.
- 1-2 years of construction event industry experience.
