Are you interested in becoming a Nursing Assistant and securing a rewarding career in health care with room to grow?
M Health Fairview is offering a unique opportunity for you to join our growing organization by earning a CNA certificate and a position as a Nursing Assistant at one of Hospital locations. We will pay for the cost of CNA course, state NA exam, and provide you with wages while taking 75-hour online/in-person CNA course.
Nursing Assistant course is partially online, provided by LeadingAge MN-OnTrack CNA training, powered by Edu Care. Though the curriculum portion is online, M Health Fairview NA educator instructor will be supporting your learning through a hybrid course. The course finishes with CNA skills training in one of hospital sites on the floor desired to work. Those hired into this CNA class and job are expected to stay on pace with course dates and must pass M Health Fairview’s nursing assistant course (dependent on your class start date.)
While completing OnTrack Nursing Assistant Course:
Must be able to commit to Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week while enrolled in OnTrack program.
Pay is $18.00/hour
Clinicals will be held at: hospital department of your choice
In person skills and testing will be held at one of these facilities:
- Fairview Health Midway 1700 University Ave. W., Saint Paul, MN 55104
After completing OnTrack Nursing Assistant Course:
- Pay will be current NA wage on the hospital unit
- Upon passing CNA course you’ll start immediately in a Nursing Assistant job within the M Health Fairview System. Determination of that specific CNA job location, shifts, and number of hours will be discussed during initial recruiter interview and with final job offer!
- There are a variety of shifts available: day, evening, night
- Every other weekend required (F, S, S) there is also holiday rotation
- Benefit Eligible at 48 hours per pay period! (This includes medical, dental, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, retirement options and more!)
Must be willing to commit to employment with M Health Fairview for at least 1 year after start date.

Responsibilities/Job Description:Duties:
- Assists patients based on individual care plan with personal cares such as: bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, showers and responds to call lights
- Under direction of nurse may provide glucose monitoring, medication administration, temperatures, and blood pressure
- Observes patients and reports status to appropriate staff in a clear and concise manner
- Chart or document status in electronic medical record system
- Sees to order and cleanliness in rooms and work areas, reports malfunctioning equipment to maintenance department, and answers phones in a timely manner
- Lifts and transfers patient with/without mechanical lifts

The program is a minimum of 75 hours and the curriculum consists of online training, in person skills training/testing and in person clinical days on the unit you are hired for.
Qualifications:Required:
Must be able to commit to Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week while enrolled in OnTrack program.
- Must accept a nursing assistant position at one of M Health Fairview Hospitals.
- Completion and passing of M Health Fairview’s Nursing Assistant Course (depends on start date).
- Must be very comfortable using computers; to complete our Online Coursework from home and to use the educational computer software program.
- Must have access to computer outside of scheduled classroom times for curriculum, studying and catch up work.
- Must be willing to commit to employment with M Health Fairview for at least 1 year after start date.
- If current Ebenezer or Fairview employee must have satisfactory performance record and have been in current position at least 6 months.
- Employees transferring to this position may have a different start/effective date.
Must be able to obtain BLS certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association prior to start of the OnTrack program.
