Position Summary | The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation atthe University of New Mexico School of Medicine is seeking applicants for afull time Adult Reconstruction Surgeon. The division of Adult ReconstructiveSurgery provides surgical and nonsurgical management of a wide range of hip andknee pathology. Successful applicants must have successfully completed anorthopeaedic surgery residency and fellowship training in adult reconstruction,and should have an interest in both primary and revision hip and kneearthroplasty procedures. This academic appointment is in the Departmentof Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation. The position will be based at UNMSandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) and the University of New MexicoHospital (UNMH). Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications andexperience. This position provides a unique opportunity for rapid clinicalpractice growth, collaborative multidisciplinary clinical and translationalresearch, and an active role in the orthopaedic residency training program.Applicants should possess excellent interpersonal, clinical and teachingskills, and should be board certified or eligible for certification andeligible for licensure in the state of New Mexico. The University of New Mexico Department ofOrthopaedic Surgery is in the midst of a growth-oriented transformation, withconstruction of the UNM Center of Excellence for Orthopaedic Surgery andRehabilitation at the UNM SRMC campus. This 50,000 ft2 facility will be home tostate-of-the-art clinical, rehabilitation, research and academic spaces. Qualifications | Minimum Qualifications: Candidatemust hold an M.D, be Board Certified or Board Eligible with American Board ofOrthopaedic Surgery, completed residency in orthopaedic surgery, completed afellowship in adult reconstruction surgery (total joints), hold or be eligiblefor medical license in state of New Mexico. Preferred Qualifications: Experiencein teaching, experience in clinical care with both primary and revision totaljoint reconstruction, proven scholarly achievement, experience working withdiverse populations, a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion,and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities. |
