Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an OpenShift Virtualization Operations Engineer for a contract assignment with one of our premier Data services clients in Raleigh, NC.
This position requires onsite work on Wednesday and Thursday. The manager is also open to REMOTE candidates.
Engineering Support is looking for a skilled professional with expertise in RedHat OpenShift to join our global client's Engineering Critical Production Datacenter team. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of RedHat OpenShift and virtualization technologies, along with experience in designing and implementing complex IT solutions.

Engineering Support is looking for a skilled professional with expertise in RedHat OpenShift to join our global client's Engineering Critical Production Datacenter team. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of RedHat OpenShift and virtualization technologies, along with experience in designing and implementing complex IT solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for performing VM migrations to OpenShift through either self-generated scripts or manual techniques.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to facilitate the migration of essential engineering resources to RedHat OpenShift across various regions.
- Work with stakeholders to gather their requirements and convert them into effective technical solutions.
- Manage communication and schedule downtime with stakeholders to minimize impact as much as possible.
- Create and update documentation for the RedHat OpenShift migration process.
- Oversee the performance of deployed solutions, address any functional issues, and provide recommendations for enhancements.
- Offer further guidance at other engineering locations, including Bangalore, India; Wichita, Kansas; and Santa Clara, California, to ensure successful migrations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience in virtualization.
- Experience migrating virtual machines to OpenShift
- Demonstrated expertise in RedHat OpenShift virtualization.
- Thorough knowledge of virtualization technologies such as High Availability (HA) and affinity rules.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex IT solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of Linux/Windows operating systems and networking.
