Job Description Summary
The Operations analyst will report directly to the Executive Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, primarily in support of the Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer. This role will be responsible for working cross functionally between finance and business stakeholders throughout South Shore Health System. This individual works with management staff to develop, maintain, and continuously optimize reporting that can be used for decision making, analysis, and tracking key performance indicators.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the collection, validation, organization, and analysis of data from multiple sources and interprets the output as charts, graphs, tables, dashboards, etc. to facilitate report production or data process development required to meet business needs.
• Supports departments and interdisciplinary groups by facilitating the acquisition of data and information needed to drive strategic and operational decision making and process improvements.
• Conducts budget analyses and generates recommendations in support of strategic, data-driven decision making.
• Supports annual budget process by working individually with managers and other leaders to update/build staffing models based on department needs, volume assumptions, and strategic initiatives.
Participate in the implementation of a Cost Accounting/Decision Support solution and become a system Superuser in maintaining data structures, processing, and reporting information from the application, leveraging data in deep dive analytics.
• Collaborate with Nursing and other clinical staff as directed to learn the organization and operations of cost centers as they pertain to data models in support of analysis and reporting, assessing data needs and helping to automate the data requirements of the nursing enterprise.
• Other duties as required.
Education, Knowledge and Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field (business, management, healthcare, etc.)
• 1-2 years relevant industry experience including data analysis and technical ability
• Proficient in excel, word, outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to learn new systems quickly
• Critical thinking, analytical, detail oriented, and excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work within a team and independently
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively work directly with various levels of leadership
• Preferred but not required experience with Epic, Workday, Cost Accounting / Decision Support systems
