Our client in the Indianapolis area is seeking qualified industry experienced (plant manager, director, or GM at a commercial laundry/linen/uniform service operation) candidates for great opportunity with growing private company. Commercial laundry/linen service experience is required.
Client is seeking a VP of Operations (or GM, Operations) to oversee internal operations, safety, production, engineering/maintenance, operational efficiency, P&L/budget, and more.
Reporting to the President, you will have full operational responsibility including P&L, team management and development, plant and equipment efficiency, procurement and inventory, tracking and reporting, safety and compliance. You will be play a key role in forming and delivering strategies to grow the company, improve performance and culture, and to continue the company mission.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safety is Priority #1. Ensure a safe working environment, and protection of all company assets.
- Oversee the Production Manager, Stockroom Manager, Maintenance Manager, and team leads, focusing on training and development of production staff.
- Collaborate in developing and implementing company policies, and lead all production department activities to achieve long-term goals and profitability growth targets. Play an active role in monthly and annual leadership and strategic planning initiatives.
- Develop and reinforce adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with city and industry certifications through accurate reporting and testing.
- Assist with annual budgeting and monthly P&L reviews, with full ownership of production-related expenses and KPI performance.
- Work closely with the Service and Sales departments to support customer retention and drive new business growth initiatives.
- Provide strategic oversight and direction for the Apparel Division to meet business objectives.
- Attend industry training and networking events 2-3 times annually.
- Typical working hours are 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM Monday to Friday

- Safe and efficient plant operations, which includes developing Production Manager and Maintenance Manager.
- Managing budgets and P&L to ensure profitable operations and continuous improvement at all of the company's facilities.
- Driving for results, ensuring customers receive quality products, improving efficiencies, and reducing labor and operating expenses.
How is success measured for this position?
P&L performance, PPOH, Labor percentage, Utility utilization/costs, Order fill rates, Safety performance, Condition of plant and equipment, Accurate reporting, Team/culture satisfaction, Turnover
Requirements:
- At least of 4 years of plant management or GM experience in a commercial laundry operation
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train and manage a team's performance
- Demonstrated knowledge of plant operation methods, equipment, techniques, engineering and maintenance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Windows applications especially Excel
- Willing and able to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
- College degree preferred
