Program Perks:Summer housing assistance: we want to match you with the best internship for you, and don’t want location to be a barrierTravel to HQ: join us to kick off and wrap up your internship, in person, at our HQ in Omaha, NEGet the big picture view of Scoular throughout the summer with our Food for Thought Learning Series featuring leaders across our organization What you will do: The Facility Operations intern will perform routine engineering work and assist the Senior Operations Manager with inspections, construction, maintenance repairs, project proposals, facility capital expenditure support, environmental permits, and site layouts which includes construction and fabrication work. This position works under moderate supervision and will provide facilities management planning and oversight of short and long-term facilities projects.you will: Assist the team in developing plans, project proposals, specifications, estimates, reports, and related documents in compliance with laws and standards; makes recommendations for improvement.Partner with facility management teams to coordinate support and scheduling throughout project completion.Conducts engineering field work, such as surveying, inspecting, drafting, design, data analytics and site layout.Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams.Assist with inspections of contractors and operators for compliance with the state specific laws, environmental permits and specifications.Drive Employee Safety agenda and improvement.Adhere to state, local and environmental building regulationsWork closely with facility operations and facility management teams to support asset locations with ongoing project needs.Complete project work in a timely manner.#LI-PM1 RequirementsWho you are:Currently pursuing a bachelor's degreeHighly skilled in independent problem-solving techniques.Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams.Willingness to work at various heights, in confined spaces and in inclement weather.Demonstrate agility to navigate change and proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.Ability to travel up to 70% to meet business needs, requiring overnight stays.Excellent problem-solving skills.A natural relationship builder with the ability to network leverage existing relationshipsSelf-driven with an entrepreneurial mindsetA strong communicator with a customer service mindsetComfortable working in high volume environmentQuick to identify a problem and find the best solutionCurious and creative, being flexible and innovative in your approachAn emerging leader with experience leading in clubs, athletics, projects, or student governmentActive in the community giving back on campus, your hometown, or on a global scaleAfter the Internship:Scoular Pathways Program is a two-year development program that immerses new graduates in broad-based, accelerated learning, developed to drive profitability through diverse experiences, active networking, and ongoing education. Throughout the two-year program, the participants meet quarterly at our three main corporate locations to network, hear from leaders in our organization and learn more about Scoular and the industry. At the end of the program, participants will have a deep understanding of Scoular's business and how to own what’s possible.
