Under the mentorship of Plant Management and the Director of Regional Operations, you will embark on an exciting journey to learn the fundamentals of our business, processes, and procedures. The goal is to equip you to lead one of our manufacturing plants within 6 to 24 months. Our overarching principles are to excel in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost while carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Contech’s policies, values, and strategies.
Relocation will be REQUIRED within 18 months.

About the Role:
As a participant in the Manufacturing Leadership Development Program, you will:
- Master Key Manufacturing Processes: Learn, understand, and direct activities in all our key pipe/stormwater manufacturing processes, including manufacturing corrugated metal pipe, metal pipe fabrication and more.
- Champion Safety and Quality: Learn our systems regarding safety, quality control, and environmental management. Maintain high standards of safety and working conditions to provide maximum protection for employees and equipment.
- Lead and Manage Plant Personnel: Take on leadership responsibilities which will include training, mentoring, and guiding plant personnel. You will become well-versed in employment policies and procedures, hourly job responsibilities, cross-training, and employee growth.
- Drive Improvement Projects: Lead improvement projects ranging from Lean Manufacturing, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), process improvement, process procedure documentation. Review and resolve issues in scheduling and equipment utilization.
- Regulatory Compliance: Learn and stay current with Interstate Commerce Commission and Department of Transportation regulations, as well as customer and government agency specifications.
- Work Alongside a Diverse Team: Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including plant leaders, plant clerks, sales professionals, and production planners across our 50+ manufacturing locations. Understand key office processes such as payroll, production reporting, plant financials, plant metrics, maintenance, and more.
- Customer Communications: Be an integral part of our product delivery team by communicating with customers to manage expectations and exceed expectations.
- Coordinate with Sales: Collaborate with sales personnel regarding customer orders, routings, specifications, pricing, shipping, and more. Ensure high-quality products consistent with profit goals.
Qualifications:
- Ability to relocate in 12-18 months based on organizational needs.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a focus on manufacturing, engineering, production, or business. A combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing and/or a supervisory capacity.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate in a team atmosphere.
- Knowledge and ability to implement Lean Manufacturing and Kanban Material Management.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact across multiple levels of the organization and across functions.
