TIG seeks a full-time, skilled, and motivated individual to join our company as Operations Manager for our Des Moines, Iowa locations. The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of a company. This includes managing employees, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently, and implementing strategies to improve productivity and quality. The Operations Manager will work closely with other departments to ensure that goals and objectives are being met and will also be responsible for creating and monitoring budgets, analyzing data, and making strategic decisions to help the company achieve its goals. Job Summary
The Operations Manager will plan, direct, manage, coordinate, and oversee operations within TIG, The Integration Group, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations, safety, on-time delivery, and quality. The Operation Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the warehouses, including metrics, KPIs, and personnel to drive quality and performance.
General Duties, and Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure health, safety, and security compliance.
- Manage and proactively lead the warehouse, operations, and supply management teams to keep employees engaged to improve performance and meet our customers' needs.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all operations, systems, and accounting phases.
- Manage and improve operation strategies to ensure adherence to targeted budget, financial metrics, and P&L responsibilities.
- Track, analyze, and report operational metrics (KPI), to drive performance improvements.
- Work closely with the management team and customer support to maintain customer satisfaction and respond to changes in business requirements.
- Monitor and enhance the performance of the company’s processes and employees to proactively identify efficiency and quality issues and propose and implement solutions.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each assigned department and warehouse location.
- Interview, hire, onboard, train, and mentor the staff.
- Manage facilities layout and updates, equipment requirements, and capacity planning for future business and company goals. Submit requests for changes and improvements for approval.
- Evaluate and improve facility usage, inventory management, and supply chain functions and practices.
- Inspect facilities and work sites to ensure they are safe, fully functioning, and high yielding.
- Mediate disputes to promote amicable and cooperative relationships among staff.
- Lead team-building exercises to promote training and overall employee well-being.
- Provide strong and timely communication with all customers and suppliers as required.
- Provide regular performance and planning updates to the executive leadership team.
- Primary contact responsible for location security calls and issues outside of normal operating business hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 10 years of experience in Operations, Warehouse, Supply Management, or Logistics.
- 5+ years’ experience in Operations, Warehouse, Supply Management, 3PL or warehouse distribution environment.
- 5+ years’ experience managing/supervising multi-team building, quality control, budgeting, training, and performance-based environments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Experience and competence with computers including Microsoft 365, Teams, and Outlook.
- The Operations Manager is required to be on call and live within 20 minutes of the locations for location security during non-business hours.

- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Strong knowledge of and commitment to Continuous Improvement
