Job Title:Operations Manager
Reports to:President, CFO
Summary:
The Operations Manager has overall responsibility for manufacturing and engineering to ensure the company’s manufacturing, maintenance, and sanitation day-to-day operational activities run smoothly and effectively.The driven, self-starting leader develops and recommends plant objectives, short- and long-range production plans and programs together with supporting budget demands. This position requires the analysis of broad and complex issues and the formulation of strategies to increase operational performance, drive continuous improvement and mitigate risk.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic operating plan that supports the organization’s vision and goals.
- Participate on the Senior Leadership Team to maximize opportunities across the company.
- Manage/oversee annual Operations planning, budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting.
- Establish and achieve KPIs for Production Forecasting.
- Develop and manage operating standards and practices that are responsive and adaptable to evolving business needs.
- Serve as a leader and role model creating a proactive, empowering and collaborative culture where employees are equipped and driven to excel.
- Make sound hiring decisions with effective development of personnel including training, career development, discipline and succession planning.
- Lead/oversee major projects, plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, and major repairs.
- Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable corporate safety risk management objectives as well as BRC regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Supply Chain, R&D and Quality on new products and packaging and corrective action initiatives.

Education and Experience:
·Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred) in Operations Management, Engineering or related field
- 10 years of progressive leadership, knowledge and experience with key manufacturing processes, best practices, and implementing process improvements to meet the changing business needs while driving strategy and execution within the consumer goods industry
- Solid financial acumen including P&L responsibility, inventory, costs and margin
- Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines
- Strong knowledge of business and management principles and practices
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
- Outstanding communication and people skills
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
- Familiarity with MS Office and various business software (e.g., ERP, CRM)
·Demonstrated ability of applying project management principles and practices to a large-scale manufacturing organization
- Very strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate up and down the organization
- Bilingual in Spanish is an asset
- Highly self-motivated; able to work with minimal supervision
- Proven track record of results - data driven decision making
·Efficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
·Self-motivated and self-directed with strong business acumen.
·Up to date knowledge on FDA, USDA, SQF, CFIA, CODEX and local guidelines.
·Must have proven excellent decision-making ability.
