Role Overview:
The Operations Manager will lead a fast-growing manufacturing organization that specializes in high reliability electronic products. Optimize production, reduce costs, and ensure high-quality product output. Develop and implement strategic goals, coordinate efforts across teams, and continuously improve processes to exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Operations department, creating and implementing strategies to streamline production and manage costs effectively
- Develop, administer, and communicate departmental policies and goals
- Ensure production is on schedule, within budget, and up to quality standards
- Lead and mentor all production supervisors, coordinators, and operators to align with customer and company goals
- Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure on-time product delivery
- Monitor KPIs, analyze data, and suggest corrective actions to optimize operations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, to maintain cost-effective processes
- Support quality initiatives by conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for production and field returns
- Promote individual responsibility for maintaining high product quality across all teams
- Lead and develop direct reports, setting clear priorities and resource allocation
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning for the department’s success and growth
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and lead the safety committee
- Foster a positive work environment and set the standard for teamwork across departments
- Participate in the recruitment, development, and management of team members
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to senior management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Engineering preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in an EMS environment
- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of PCBA, electromechanical, and wire/cable manufacturing
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, ISO, and IPC standards
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage conflict tactfully
- Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of mentoring and team building
- Adaptable to a fast-changing environment, with the ability to manage heavy workloads and multitask efficiently
- Confident in communicating with customers to enhance business relations and project the company’s image
