Responsibilities:The Operations and Quality Director will provide strategic leadership for the quality and operational excellence of Fast Pace Health's Rural Health Alliance (RHA) facilities. This role combines oversight of clinical operations with quality improvement initiatives across multiple clinics, ensuring compliance with quality metrics and enhancing patient care through innovative programs and strategic planning.
The individual in this role will be responsible for leading quality improvement initiatives and operations across the regional clinics, partnering closely with clinical and administrative teams. A primary focus will be on enhancing clinical outcomes, driving patient satisfaction, and fostering business growth through efficient clinic management and provider engagement.
The individual supports the overall company vision for Fast Pace Health. The individual works closely with other departments including operations, human resources, legal, finance, and health care compliance to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. The individual plays a role as a “player-coach” setting the example of best practices in innovative and impactful growth across the Company. Finally, a strong understanding of health-related compliance is critical to optimize our future success.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of primary care, urgent care, walk-in care, and ancillary service lines within all RHA facilities, ensuring operational efficiencies, patient care quality, and compliance with clinical protocols.
- Well-versed in assessing and developing strategies surrounding day to day metrics such as productivity and volume monitoring. Leads clinic managers to assess workflow, make improvements, and enhance clinic metrics and performance.
- Work closely with the leadership team to identify growth opportunities for ancillary services within the clinics, focusing on improving patient access and expanding service offerings.
- Lead efforts to streamline care paths through automation and EMR enhancements, ensuring adherence to Fast Pace policies and clinical protocols.
- Implements on-going continuing education opportunities to promote strong clinical skills and knowledge for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical assistants, and other staff.
- Ability to advocate and lead the 5 principles of Fast Pace Urgent Care: Communication, Teamwork, Empowerment, Quality of Care, and Friendliness.
Quality Improvement Leadership:
- Serve as the Quality Lead for RHA, accountable for clinical quality metrics and performance improvement initiatives. Serve on PCP Medical Management and Quality Committee (MMQC) and attend required meetings.
- Organize and lead monthly quality improvement meetings for clinics, in partnership with the Office of Medical Affairs (OMA), and ensure alignment with Fast Pace Health’s quality goals.
- Assisting Supervising Physicians with ongoing chart audits and clinical work evaluations to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Collaborate with OMA and Population Health teams to implement wellness programs, chronic care management, and other clinical programs aimed at improving patient outcomes and reducing costs.
Provider and Staff Engagement:
- Lead recruitment, training, and mentorship of clinical teams, ensuring that they are equipped to meet quality and operational goals.
- Work directly with providers to address barriers to patient care and to ensure proper compliance with billing and coding practices.
- Act as a liaison between clinic providers, OMA, and operational leadership, fostering clear communication and teamwork to achieve clinical excellence.
Growth and Development Initiatives:
- Develop and implement strategies for organic growth within the clinics, identifying ways to enhance services and drive utilization of primary care and ancillary services.
- Provide leadership and accountability for the performance of RHA providers, working closely with underperforming clinics to drive improvement.
- The ability to build and maintain confidence and credibility with all employees and external professional relationships.
Financial & Compliance Oversight:
- Collaborate with the SrVP Ancillary Services and Revenue Cycle leadership to ensure financial goals are met, and providers follow proper billing compliance.
- Contribute to annual budget development and manage operational resources efficiently to meet regional financial goals.
Other responsibilities as directed by the SrVP Ancillary Services.
Experience Requirements and Preferences::
Basic Requirements:
Education: RN with masters degree in nursing; Licensed FNP or Physician Assistant highly preferred
AND
Experience: Minimum 3 Years in Multi-Site Healthcare Clinical Operations: Proven leadership in managing multiple healthcare sites, driving profitability and operational excellence. Experience includes staff management, financial oversight, policy implementation, and patient care standards, with a focus on strategic operations and team development across diverse locations. Must have prior Primary Care clinical experience.
Minimum 3 Years in Leadership within a Value-Based/Quality-Centric Organization with PCMH Expertise: At least 3 years in a value-based care organization, with hands-on experience in transitioning to cost-effective, quality-focused care. Expertise in PCMH accreditation and implementing its standards to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
Current License or Certification:
Licensed family nurse practitioner or physician assistant highly preferred; will consider a registered nurse.
