About the Job
Our Georgia Pacific mill in Palatka, FL is seeking an Operations Reliability Coordinator to join our team. The RC will m anage the maintenance equipment expense spending and reliability systems for the Towel/Tissue/Converting Operations area. This role reports directly to the Product System Leader.
Our Team
The Palatka mill and its products are a critical part of GP's Consumer Products portfolio, including high-profile Angel Soft®, Quilted Northern®, Brawny®, and Sparkle® brands. GP has invested heavily at Palatka in recent years to deliver competitive tissue and towel products including a new towel paper machine. The mill also features two Kraft paper machines and recent investments in a state-of-the-art Daily Operations Center (DOC) - a singular control hub for our asset monitoring. With more than 950 team members, the mill is highly strategic operation for GP and a foundational part of the local community and economy.
Located 45 minutes west of the beautiful beaches of St. Augustine, the mill is nestled in outskirts of the growing city of Palatka. Jacksonville, Daytona Beach and Gainesville are approximately one hour away, and Orlando is only two hours! In an area ideal for many different people, interests, and lifestyles, the Palatka mill is a rare find!
What You Will Do
- Efficiently coordinating maintenance work (mechanical, electrical, and instrument) by anticipating, prioritizing, & scheduling work
- Lead structured Planning and Scheduling meetings on a weekly basis per established cadence
- Leveraging precision maintenance techniques through your expectation of how work is completed
- Championing timely identification and development of maintenance outage work
- Improving reliability of assets with disciplined execution of maintenance work processes ensuring on-time execution of preventative and predictive maintenance work
- Troubleshooting equipment and participating in root cause failure analysis to identify and resolve equipment failures
- Demonstrating a proper sense of urgency and discipline to balance break-in and scheduled work, provide a weekly forecast of work to schedule
- Utilizing economic and critical thinking and risk-taking mentality to ensure maintenance spend creates long term value for the product system and mill
- Encouraging mechanics and operators to demonstrate personal ownership and fostering the personal growth of their capabilities
- Reviewing EH&S Work Orders and requests with Planning and Scheduling team weekly
- Collaborating with Planners and Area Leaders to prioritize work
- Assisting in manpower optimization and sharing with other Reliability Coordinators
- Maintaining the Planning metrics and providing explanations for metric performance on a weekly and monthly basis
- Manage the maintenance expense (ME) budget at or below budget
- Develop multi-year budgets that levels maintenance expenses
- Maintain standards for work request (WR) quality
- Maximize the percentage of WRs that meet the criteria to become work orders
- Manage maintenance expenditures to minimize unplanned events
- Support scheduled shutdown planning and execution
- Support daily needs of the production team in the asset operations expert role
- Prioritize the funding of safety initiatives based on risk mitigation
- Connect Operations and Maintenance to a common Vision
- Support the execution of the GP Reliability Mental Model
- Maintain assets in like-for-like condition to maximize results
- Coach initiators on the quality of WR, reject reasons, and the value of work submitted
- Identify opportunity for development of operators to do simple maintenance
- Manage work order backlog and prioritize work by area and mill-wide to support business needs
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering OR three (3) or more years of reliability and maintenance in manufacturing
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) or SAP
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience managing departmental finical budgets
- Management experience supporting a paper production and integrated paper mill operations
- Experience defining and optimizing production and maintenance plans
- Experience with Microsoft Project related to maintenance outage planning
