The Huntsville (AL) International Airport, a small hub FAA Part 139 Airport, is accepting applications for the position of Operations Specialist.
Duties include performing a variety of specialized technical support for the operations department of the Airport Authority. Under general supervision, work involves various functions associated with the daily operation and services of the airport. The position ensures compliance with FAA Regulation Part 139 and TSA Regulation Part 1500 series including the airport certification requirements. Ensure day-to-day compliance with city air permit, NPDES permit and spill prevention/storm water pollution plans.
- Individual will serve as liaison between airport management, tenants, and the public.
- Four-year degree in Aviation Management, Airport Management or Business required.
- Zero to one (1) year experience in aviation field required with Aviation Management or Airport Management degree.
Hours for this position would be 4AM-2:00PM with a paid working lunch.
The work is partly sedentary with periods of moderate physical activity, and is performed in office, shop and field surroundings. Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding; bend, kneel, crouch and crawl; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; feel the size, shape and temperature of items; and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires use of normal or aided vision and hearing and to detect odors. Work may be subject to frequent interruptions from internal and external contacts.
