This salaried position will report directly to the Production Manager of PNS Cement Manufacturing for Kiln processes and the Cement Plant Manager for the Alternative Fuels Operations.
Purpose:
To effectively coordinate the daily operation of the Kiln ensuring all environmental, safety, quality, budget, and production targets are being met and achieve maximum throughput, optimization and AF substitution by improve efficiency and expand on PEF operations.

Safety and Environment
- Communicates, improves, and adheres to safety policies in all work environments and areas to ensure continuity of our Safety culture.
- Ensure full compliance with Air permit and all other relevant Environmental and other legal permits
- Ensure that Kiln and AF teams have been tasks and trained in the use of all safety equipment and supplies.
- Encourage, report, and investigate near misses and accidents that occurred.
- Guarantee that the department safety and environmental annual refresh training, Standard Procedures and awareness program are implemented at the functional team level. Monitors the safety audit program for his/her AOR.
Productivity & Efficiency
Full responsibility over pyro side of cement plant production and P&L responsibility on the PEF facility, including strategic growth of alternative fuels.
- Oversees the overall operation from surge piles (limestone), through raw mill, clinker production to clinker silos
- Responsible for the variable and section of fixed cost of clinker
- Responsible for shift personnel and yard department in pyro
- P&L responsibility of PEF facility (feedstock, volumes, manufacturing cost, quality, development to grow in production volumes (1 to 3 shifts)
- Responsibility for AF TSR in the plant through combination of various streams, optimization and maximizing TSR. In charge for the operations aspect of the new Capex for AF increase (part of Project team) and serve as a liaison with suppliers, assisting new sources development for AF in cooperation with CE AF Director
- Responsible for new Growth projects related to pyro
Leadership & People Development:
- Affect job performance of plant operations team members (all levels) through motivation, goal setting and providing feedback. Provide leadership by directing, coaching, supporting, and delegating as needed.
- Create and maintain trusting relationships with plant operations team focusing on training and development to foster growth of new skills while leveraging current strengths of team.
- Meet with various stakeholders to include government agencies and community groups concerning plant activities, specifically pertaining to compliance with environmental regulations, policies, and standards.
- Additional major functions include planning, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting, reporting of department's effectiveness, reviewing, and creating Capital Expenditure Requests (CER), safeguarding assets, & environment compliance.
Qualifications:
Knowledge/Experience
- A minimum of 6 to 8 years of progressive production and/or technical management role and experience in cement manufacturing or similar business.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar Engineering.
- Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or MBA is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of budgeting, P&L, planning, permitting, negotiations, and process improvement.
- Solid understanding of safety, environmental and quality compliance regulations (quality control and quality assurance procedures).
- Kiln Maintenance and knowledge of energy substitution via waste, tire, other viable products.
- Formal training or certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is desirable.
