Under direction of appropriate manager, maintain responsibility for overall shift operations, production performance, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Maintain and monitor facility and staff for regulatory compliance and safe behavior in accordance with all federal, state, local, and customer requirements.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Supervise operations personnel in accordance with operations plan, health and safety plan, work rules, monitoring and testing requirements.
- Assure adherence/compliance to all federal, state, local permit requirements, assuring that materials are processed in safe, efficient, timely manner
- Assist in training and development of operations personnel.
- Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of equipment to assure quality production standards.
- Uphold facility hygiene and stringent housekeeping standards.
- Maintain accurate production, quality control, equipment records and daily inspection reports
- Communicate to management/supervisors: facility needs, difficulties, changes in operations.
- Help to implement safety, health, and environmental plans & procedures.
- Assist with maintenance of equipment as requested
- Participate in customer tours of production facility as required
- Assist other departments (i.e. maintenance, transportation, sales) as necessary
Salary starting at $64,000.
QualificationsBasic Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in hazardous waste industry
- 3+ years of supervisory experience
- Must be able to pass a DEA background check
- Ability to wear company-provided personal protective equipment including eye protection, foot protection, hard hat, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or an Environmental Sciences field
- Two or more years of experience sampling and receiving hazardous waste
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA Regulations
- Proficiency with Windows based programs (i.e. Excel and Word)
