About the Job
Contributes to the growth and profitability of company by assisting the supervisor in directing the day-to-day functional operations. Trains and directs department employees and temporary associates to ensure that department facility objectives are met.
Objectives include: meeting deadlines within quality parameters, focus on providing value-added services, maintaining integrity of inventory, ensuring knowledge of and compliance with WMS (PkMS), implementing and supporting process improvements, supporting providing a safe work environment, fostering open communication and a healthy work environment, and leading by example.
• Assists supervisor, by providing direction and training to employees within their work team, ensuring production rates, quality, and store service goals are achieved.
• Monitors work team for safety policy compliance, housekeeping, and demonstration of safe work behaviors.
• Keeps supervisor informed of production rates, training needs, performance issues, improvement suggestions, and personnel issues.
• Performs production function within assigned work group at the established rate.
• Operates powered equipment to move and ship product as needed.
• Maintains record of product movement and task completion with PkMS system.
• Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
• Working knowledge of PkMS or related Warehouse Management Systems
• Ability to complete work assignments and projects in a timely and efficient manner, with minimal follow up.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively give and receive instructions.
• Proven reliability and strong attendance record.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to train and direct others to complete assigned tasks.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, support for company goals, integrity and the ability lead by example
• The ability to work as part of a team and to encourage others to achieve department goals.
• Must be Guitar Center certified to operate powered equipment; or be willing and able to satisfy certification process if selected.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Able to stand for long periods of time, and work in hot conditions during summer months.
• Demonstrated strong focus on safety, quality and inventory management.
