Are you a driven, detail-oriented leader ready to propel operational success? We’re seeking a dynamic Operations Terminal Manager to oversee and optimize our transportation operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and profitability.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead a High-Performing Team: Supervise drivers, logistics specialists, clerical staff, and operations supervisors. Foster teamwork, accountability, and professional growth through coaching, evaluations, and rewards. Provide training to clarify roles and set team members up for success.
- Optimize Operational Efficiency: Utilize company assets, including tractors, trailers, and CDL drivers, to enhance route efficiency, manage schedules, and meet safety, financial, and service targets.
- Ensure Compliance and Safety Standards: Enforce compliance with DOT, OSHA, and CTPAT regulations. Conduct safety checks, administer HOS (Hours of Service) rules, and oversee accident investigations alongside the Director of Safety.
- Strengthen Customer Relationships: Act as the primary contact for terminal clients, building rapport, anticipating needs, and quickly resolving issues to foster long-term partnerships.
- Monitor Key Performance Metrics: Track and manage KPIs for drivers and terminal operations. Analyze data, identify improvements, and implement strategies to enhance productivity and service quality.
- Conduct Field Assessments: Perform ride-alongs with drivers to evaluate route performance, safety adherence, and improvement opportunities.
- Manage Facility and Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment, vehicles, and terminal infrastructure are in top condition, collaborating with leasing companies, vendors, and repair services.
- Oversee Payroll and Time Management: Ensure payroll accuracy and manage team schedules, including vacation requests, to maintain smooth operations.
- Support Hiring and Talent Acquisition: Participate in interviews and disciplinary actions, aligning hiring decisions with company values and goals.
- Maintain Terminal Infrastructure: Oversee upkeep of terminal facilities to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Enforce Quality and Compliance Standards: Uphold ISO certifications (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and OHSAS 45001) and drive continuous quality improvements.
- Foster Communication and Team Cohesion: Promote open communication among team members and departments, lead meetings, and encourage feedback to maintain a collaborative environment.

Requirements
Qualifications We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Management, Transportation, Logistics, or related field preferred; Associate’s degree plus 8+ years in operations or terminal management considered.
- Experience: 5+ years in transportation operations with team and asset management experience in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and transportation management software (TMW, Peoplenet, SpeedGauge, Rand McNally, PCMiler); familiarity with inventory tracking and time clock management systems is a plus.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, DOT compliance, and C-TPAT best practices; knowledge of OSHA standards and ISO certifications is beneficial.
- Leadership & People Management: Proven record in team leadership, conflict resolution, and fostering high engagement. Skilled in interviewing, training, and developing associates.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze KPIs, productivity metrics, and make data-driven decisions to address operational challenges.
- Communication & Interpersonal: Strong written and verbal communication skills; adept at representing the company positively to customers and partners.
- Organization & Multitasking: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Flexibility: Available to work weekends, holidays, and travel as needed.
