About the Job
Essential Duties
- Produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine (Lathe & Mill).
- Understanding specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reviewing and understanding 3D CAD blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job orders.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Set machines to complete full cycles to machine a single or large number of parts.
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
- Provide training to new operators as necessary.
- Maintain a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.
- Other duties as assigned
Safety
- Develop relationships with coworkers to better understand the processes and culture that affect safety.
- Influence safety by evaluating safety performance, participating in safety meetings, targeting areas needing improvement and developing initiatives to impact the areas.
- Thoroughly knowledgeable of Safe Work Policy.
Experience
Required- High school diploma/general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associate degree in CNC programming, in computer-related field or mechanical field, or CNC certification from an accredited technical school preferred.
