Responsible for operating and maintaining the Company’s systems, including cleaning and providing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Quickly become knowledgeable of the Company’s systems and processes.
- Become adept at operating all facets of the systems and equipment; demonstrate the ability and willingness to move from one area of the plant to another.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the operation of various mobile equipment, including Bobcat, fork truck, skid steer, person-lift, front-end loader and pickup truck.
- Assist the Lead Operator and/or Maintenance Operator with inventory.
- Complete minor mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on all plant equipment, e.g. changing bearings and lowering skirtings; troubleshoot and report all operational and mechanical deficiencies to the Maintenance Operator; communicate all information properly and accurately.
- Initiate and complete daily inspection sheets, daily and weekly logs, checklists, schedules, work orders, requisitions and other paperwork properly and accurately; document all critical and/or pertinent information on a routine basis; log all work completed and time spent on work.
- Perform sample testing and make adjustments to eddy current separator; provide prompt and accurate information to Lead Operator for entry into system.
- Operate all site conveyors and process equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor and maintain on-site equipment and related systems, including conveyor systems, motors and bearings, to ensure safe, environmentally compliant and efficient operation.
- Ensure all equipment and grounds are kept clean and free of built-up ash and debris.
- Follow standard safety and environmental procedures, correct safety and environmental hazards, and report them to the Plant Supervisor immediately.
- Read, understand and apply information, such as lockout/tagout procedures, safety and environmental rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Perform simple laboratory analyses.
- Be available to support the operation by working a rotating shift and overtime as required.
- Perform other duties as requested and/or assigned.
Education and Experience
- 3-5 years’ plant operations experience in a production environment
- Mechanical and maintenance skills; welding a strong plus
- Heavy equipment operation experience, particularly front-end loader, a strong plus
Special Skills and Abilities
- Strong work ethic and sound judgment
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to work effectively in adverse environmental conditions, including wet or humid conditions, airborne particles, potential exposure to dust, and chemicals, varied temperatures and outdoor weather conditions, and noise in the work environment
