Job Summary
Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Operator I with strong manual dexterity and experience in microscope work. This role involves painting and processing critical ceramic components using various applications such as vacuum, brush, and CNC methods, while maintaining high standards of precision and accuracy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of repetitive and non-repetitive operations, following production drawings, work instructions, and verbal directions.
- Operate equipment, including hydrogen furnaces, and handle industrial chemicals such as solvents, acetone, and acids safely.
- Accurately complete production paperwork and computer-based reporting on jobs or parts.
- Inspect and process parts using microscopes to ensure high-quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, perform preventive maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating a high level of attention to detail.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0 to 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a background in microscope work preferred.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and dimensional equipment, and experience with manual tools.
- Strong manual dexterity and good eyesight are required for detailed work.
- Basic mathematics understanding and proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and perform tasks requiring repetitive hand, arm, and wrist motions.
Skills Preferred but Not Required
- Experience with microscope work and blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with small hand tools, measuring tools, and soldering techniques.
- A manufacturing background and a strong desire for precision and accuracy in all tasks.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods, with regular walking, reaching, and handling of parts and equipment.
- Regular use of personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
