About the Job
Education: High school diploma is required; some college or a degree is preferred. Certification as a COA or COT is a plus.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment. Previous experience in an Ophthalmic/Optometric setting is STRONGLY PREFERRED.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Proficiency: Experienced in using EMR systems to manage patient information efficiently.

Organized Multitasker: Excellent at juggling multiple tasks with great attention to detail and organizational skills.

Typing Proficiency: Demonstrates excellent typing skills, with a minimum speed of 45 words per minute and high accuracy.
Active Listening and Learning: Proficient in listening and comprehending tasks and instructions, with a strong willingness to learn on the job.
Knowledge of Diagnostic Codes: Familiar with diagnostic codes, aiding in accurate patient record management.
Empathetic and Patient-Focused: Shows genuine concern and empathy for patients’ needs and experiences.
Effective Team Coordination: Communicates and collaborates effectively with the team to maintain optimal clinic workflow.

Medical and Optical Knowledge: Possesses a basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and optical principles, including refraction and contact lenses, and is familiar with the use of optical equipment.
