WHO YOU ARE:
As the Clinic Manager, you will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operational functions for the clinic, ensuring that office policies, procedures, and plans are executed in a smooth and expeditious manner. You will provide leadership, guidance, and expertise to all Technician and Scribe employees as well as effectively communicating departmental activities to the team. The Clinic Manager is responsible for establishing a high performance team that is efficient, knowledgeable, service oriented, and shares responsibility for attaining the goals of the practice. Demonstrate comprehension of the ophthalmic technician skills as outlined by the joint commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). Provide support to clinical staff of less advanced credentials.
Responsibilities:
- Manages daily clinical operations by reviewing patient, physician, and technician schedules, assigning clinical space usage by a physician; monitors clinic flow and interfacing with facility staff.
- Enhances and improves patient experience investigating patient complaints, draws conclusions, and contacts patients for satisfaction resolutions.
- Provides training and guidance to clinical staff; oversees performance reviews and monitors daily routine of technical staff; train new technical staff.
- Reviews reports to determine clinic needs and verifies clinic workflows; identifies areas of waste and opportunities for efficiency.
- Oversees clinical equipment maintenance by coordinating a maintenance program with clinical staff for timely repairs and proper functioning.
- Manages day-to-day operations of the practice and supervises physicians and staff following company policies and procedures.
- Ensures the highest degree of customer service and patient quality care is maintained at all times.
- Ensures compliance with standard medical practice to manage and minimize risk.
- Resolves any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthful clinic atmosphere.
- Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends and developments.
- Develops and maintains rapport and positive relationships with providers.
- Meets operational goals set by management.
Required Qualifications:
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician licensure
- Proven experience with effective hiring and motivating, and managing a team.
- Strong staff relations skills.
- Must have the ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when receiving instructions from physicians or others, reading and interpreting procedures and related materials; examining and closely inspecting materials when using equipment; and working one-on-one with patients.
- Leadership qualities, diplomacy, discretion, ability to enforce difficult positions, excellent communication, public speaking skills, and exceptional interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
- Knowledge of health care and medical procedures.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Perform under the stress of frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
- Verbal skills sufficient to promote pleasant and effective interactions with patients, staff, doctors, and the public.
