Ophthalmic Technician Optometry Office
Our Ophthalmic Technicians are at the forefront of our new and advanced dry eye testing dedicated to helping people on their path to better eye health. We have been in business for almost 40 years, and are the leading provider of eye care in South Florida seeking full-time technicians to become a part of our growing team! As an Ophthalmic Technician in one of our offices, you’ll gain new skills and hands-on experience with brand new state of the art technology in a thriving work environment. As the first contact for our patients, you’ll have the opportunity to shape their customer experience and make each interaction outstanding. Whether you’re new to optometry or an expert technician, we offer full-time positions for all skill levels. We also provide education and training to help you grow professionally and personally while staying up to date on new products and eyecare testing. When trained to become one of our technicians you will perform and become certified in many different tests including, the Oculus Keratograph device, Osmolarity with Tear Lab, and MMP Levels/Inflammation.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour Plus Quarterly Bonuses
Technician Duties
- Familiarize all patients with office procedures and tests so they have clear understanding/expectation of the process and length of time.
- Perform multiple dry eye testing on patients
- Pre Testing patients using state of the art equipment
Administrative Duties
- Patient check-in and check-out; schedule appointments, determine patients insurance status.
- Maintain a patient database in office management software, including entering charges and payments.
- Responsible for billing medical & vision insurance plans and tracking payments.
- Confirm that pre-authorizations have been pulled for all insured patients.
- Supervise returns and make sure proper credits have been received.
Qualifications
- Well spoken for answering phones, and booking appointments
- Team player with good interpersonal and listening skills
- Passion for continuing education and learning new skills
- Must be flexible to accommodate schedule changes on short notice to fulfill business needs
- Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician is preferred, but not required
- Optical/optometry industry experience preferred, but not required
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
