The Work You Will Do
The Curriculum & Instructional Designer position is located within the Office of Organizational Development & Engagement (ODE). Collaborating closely with subject matter experts, your primary responsibilities will consist of designing, developing and delivering engaging and effective training and instructional materials for the end users on the functionality and use of the Planning, Accounting and Ledger Management (PALM (https://www.myfloridacfo.com/floridapalm/home) ) system. DEP is transitioning to PALM, a cloud-hosted, financial management system, which will replace DEP’s current accounting and cash management system. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of curriculum development principles and instructional design models, as well as strong content knowledge and expertise in using technology to enhance learning experiences.

Your Specific Responsibilities
+ Curriculum Development:
+ Assist Subject Matter Experts (SME) to identify learning objectives for courses and programs.
+ Assist SME in designing and developing engaging and effective curriculum materials, including training plans, assessments, and activities.
+ Research and integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies into curriculum design.
+ Assist SME in evaluating and revising existing curriculum materials to ensure alignment with current standards and best practices.
+ Collaborate with SME to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
+ Instructional Design:
+ Apply instructional design principles to create effective learning experiences for diverse learners.
+ Develop assessments that align with learning objectives and measure student progress.
+ Design and develop online and blended learning modules.
+ Create storyboards and other instructional materials.
+ Train instructors on how to effectively use the curriculum and instructional materials.
+ Additional Responsibilities:
+ Stay up to date on current trends and best practices in curriculum development and instructional design.
+ Manage and maintain curriculum documentation.
+ Collaborate with other team members to ensure the success of training programs.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Experience in developing curriculum for diverse learners.
+ Knowledge of current educational standards and best practices including curriculum development and instructional design principles and models.
+ Expertise using instructional technologies, authoring tools and learning management systems.
+ Experience in developing and implementing online and blended learning programs.
+ Excellent writing and editing skills, communication, collaboration and organizational skills.
+ Strong project management skills including expertise with attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and professional experience in HR, training, education or similar field(s).
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Certificate in curriculum development, instructional design, education or a related field.
+ Strong knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design principles and models.
