We’re seeking a future team member for the role of OPS Trading Services Representative I to join the Middle Office team. This role is located in Lake Mary, FL - Hybrid.
As a part of the Fixed Income Middle Office, the incumbent will play a pivotal part in helping to manage and support the lifecycle of a trade as well as other related functions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This position serves as a central liaison to the front office and is responsible for the mitigation of risk in support of day-to-day trading activities, trade life cycle events, PNL review, reconciliations, regulatory/compliance support, and ad hoc requests from the multiple desks that we support. Responsible for monitoring trade flows and assisting with ensuring timely allocations are performed to facilitate future and same day settlement of trades as well as communicate with clients and the business to minimize duration of any resulting failed trades. Central contact to Sales, Trading, and Operations to manage inquiry, escalation, and resolution of firm and client trading issues.
Exercises own judgement and collaborates with multiple internal and external stakeholders to resolve any security, settlement, or payment issues. Work with Middle Office leads to challenge and maintain updated operating procedures and document manual processes and control from a risk perspective. Regularly interacts with clients in answering questions and resolving multifaceted inquiries. No direct reports. Contributes to the achievement of team’s objectives as well documents the team’s challenges and successes within monthly management reporting.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and cultivating a robust service and control environment
- Works closely with Trading and Sales to ensure that trades are added to the Firm’s books and records in a timely and accurate manner
- Position and trade issues must be identified and amended immediately
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelors’ degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Entry level 0-3 years of experience.
- Experience in financial investments preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
- Experience using and executing the following systems and processes are a plus: Bloomberg, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, and DTCC Omgeo.
- An understanding of Fixed Income products (Corporate Bonds, Commercial Paper, Certificates of Deposit, Municipal bonds, US Treasuries, Agencies, and Mortgage-backed securities) and their respective matching, settlement, and SSI standards.
- Preferred: excel and power point skills, strong communication skills, team player, detail oriented, and Risk/control focused
