Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our dynamic team at Atlantic Eye. In this role, you'll be an integral part of our anterior segment team, working directly with a cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeon. Your responsibilities will include assisting with consultations, pre-operative planning, and post-operative care, while staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and corneal disease management.
- Consultations for Refractive Surgery such as LASIK/PRK/SMILE, EVO Visian ICL, Refractive Lens Exchange for myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia
- Consultations for Cataract Surgery including candidacy for Advanced Technology IOLs and uses of Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery (FLACS)
- Consultations for Corneal Disease such as Keratoconus, Corneal Dystrophy, Infectious keratitis, Herpetic disease, Complications of Cataract Surgery, Trauma, Dry Eye Disease/Blepharitis, Degenerative Diseases like pterygium/pinguecula/Salzmann, Autoimmune Disease (SJS, VKC, OCP, PUK), Tumors
This team based approached to eye care services will allow you to diagnose and treat a wide range of vision and ocular health conditions, while ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams, including refraction, visual acuity testing, and ocular health assessments.
- Diagnose and manage eye conditions such as cataracts, refractive errors, corneal diseases, dry eye syndrome, and glaucoma.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Gain proficiency in contrast sensitivity and glare testing, slit-lamp photography, corneal topography/tomography, OCT imaging, pachymetry, keratometry, ray tracing, aberrometry, and wavefront imaging.
- Educate and counsel patients both in-office and through telehealth.
- Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Stay current with advancements in optometry and engage in continuing education.

Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state (New Jersey) optometry license.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in optometry, preferably in a medical setting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
- Dedication to providing compassionate patient care and ensuring positive outcomes.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
