Our client, a local private practice is hiring an optometrist for a five day a week role. This practice offers comprehensive eye exams including thorough assessment of the eye health and determination of refractive error using the latest technology and methods. Whether it’s time for your annual exam or you are having medical issues with your eyes, they are there to help. They offer prescription eyeglasses that are hand selected by their expert optical team. They carry the latest designer frames and state of the art lenses. This practice also offers computer glasses and designer sunglasses.
This is a family-owned comprehensive eye care center with over 25 years of operations. They are located in Santa Barbara, CA.
They offer a full scope Optometric Practice dedicated to providing the highest quality vision care to children and adults in a friendly, comfortable and professional atmosphere.
- Perform standard eye exams for patients on a daily basis
- Check for evidence of disease, injury, or other problems impacting vision
- Provide prescriptions for corrective lenses as needed
- Listen to and address patient’s questions and concerns
- Educate patients regarding the eyecare and vision correction options
- Analyze results from all tests conducted and share results with patients
- Utilize all necessary equipment properly, ensuring it is in good working order
- Coordinate with the rest of the staff as needed to meet patient’s needs
- Check prescription and fit of corrective lenses
- Record all tests, prescriptions, and treatments in patient chart
- Refer patients to trusted specialists as needed
Optometrist Requirements and Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) required from an accredited educational institution
- Current state optometry license, valid and in good standing
- Solid working knowledge of all ophthalmic equipment needed to conduct examinations
- Experience prescribing and fitting corrective lenses
- Current medical knowledge of testing and treatments for eye injuries and diseases
- Continued commitment to remaining up to date on the latest research and techniques
- History of excellent patient care
- Positive attitude and team-oriented approach to patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and commitment to patient care
- Compassionate and professional chair-side manner
- Able to thrive in a past-paced, growing practice while maintaining quality of care
- Able to maintain a clean and safe work space.
