About The Position
**Job Title:** International Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Operating Room (OR) **Job Duration:** 143 days **Shift:** Days, 12 hours, 6:45-3:15 PM **Guaranteed Hours:** 40 per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of current experience required. **License:** Valid nursing license with no violations or hits. **Certifications:** ACLS (AHA), BLS, PALS, CNOR preferred **Must-Have:** - Cerner EMR experience required - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Candidates must have their own vehicle due to the absence of public transportation. **Job Description:** We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) who is caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable about surgical procedures. The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of all age populations, recognizing both normal and abnormal patient presentations. The Surgical RN will adhere to the standards of care and recommendations. **Primary Responsibilities:** - Oversee and coordinate the care of a patient undergoing a surgical procedure. - Obtain necessary supplies and equipment for surgical procedures, assisting in setting up and maintaining the sterile field. - Assist the surgeon with supplies and equipment necessary for the procedure. - Assist anesthesia during critical times of induction and emergence of anesthesia with necessary supplies and equipment. - Administer medication under the direction of healthcare providers. - Communicate with patients and their families, explaining procedures, advocating for patients, and providing emotional support. - Document patient information and maintain accurate medical records. - Operate and monitor medical equipment. - Identify any complications or emergencies and respond swiftly. - Educate patients about the procedure and what to expect during their procedure. **Additional Requirements:** - Strong clinical assessment and communication skills. - Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations. - Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends if needed. - Commitment to patient-centered care and providing a positive experience. - Incorporate evidence-based best practices into daily settings through holistic, quality-based care using the most up-to-date research and knowledge. All successful employees must adhere to all policies and standards of behavior. Holiday duties may be required if needed, including one weekend per month on call.
