About The Position
**Job Title:** RN - Operating Room General Surgery **Job Specialty:** Registered Nurse / Licensed - Inpatient **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Day, Monday-Friday, 6:45 am - 5:15 pm, 4x10-hour shifts with variable days off **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Less than 1 year required; experience with direct patient care preferred **License:** Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact License **Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) **Must-Have:** - Diploma from an accredited nursing program - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Ability to read, write, and speak English - Optimization of technology to support clinical care with basic computer skills - Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, respond to emergencies decisively, composed, and respectfully - Excellent time management - Evidence and analytical skills in nursing practice - Strong critical thinking skills **Job Description:** - Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice. - Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics. - Partner with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for setting and purpose. - Practice using current clinical practice standards. - Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care, promoting professional care delivery models. - Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, practicing in a fiscally responsible manner. - Participate in and support performance improvement activities and shared governance. - Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education. - Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff. - Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. - Uphold healthcare system policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. - Plan patient care across the care continuum. - Develop protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes. - Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources. - Perform other duties as assigned.
