About the Job
The RN Operating Room Supervisor assumes leadership, accountability and responsibility for the operating room nursing care team while maintaining responsibility as defined in the RN job descriptions. Responsibilities include facilitation of all nursing human resources under the auspice of the Director of Nursing, project and initiative planning, implementation and evaluation, nursing care team development, program planning, and monitoring of financial and human resource process improvements. Participates in and accepts responsibility for all functions delegated by the Director of Nursing. This position directs, collaborates with and evaluates all assigned nursing staff according to hospital, nursing and unit philosophy and objectives. Utilizes and acquires knowledge of current and best practices in the Operating Room. The RN Operating Room Supervisor maintains organizational, patient, and staff confidentiality and will be held accountable for personal and staff member professional behavior at all times. Must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to direct reports, patients, providers, the public and co-workers. The RN Operating Room Supervisor possesses knowledge of CMS standards specific to the operating room, AORN Standards, New Hampshire Department of Health guidelines, NH Board of Nursing rules and rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of Nursing Practice at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital and uses this knowledge to ensure safe, effective care and compliance with all ethical business practices. The RN Operating Room Supervisor reports to the Director of Nursing. This is a full-time (36 hrs./week) position and benefit eligible.
