Title: Oracle Database Administrator
Location: Princeton, NJ
Duration: Long Term

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates should have:
• Advanced Oracle database administration skills and experience required.
• AWS cloud experience required
• Working knowledge of Oracle Data Guard and standby databases
• Working knowledge of Oracle Golden Gate and database replication
• Working knowledge of some other database technology like MS SQL Server, Postgres, or MongoDB is desired
• Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Oracle database and query performance tuning skills needed
• Troubleshoot and resolve RAC and Redhat clustering issues in database environments
• Schedule and coordinate database maintenance activities
• Strong ability to resolve technical and complex database issues before they impact production systems
• Ability to perform physical database design changes according to requirements established during logical data modeling activity
• Ability to perform database backup, recovery and disaster recovery
• Performs database migrations, upgrades and structure migrations
• Ability to influence development organizations to comply with database best practices and ETS standards and practices
• Ability to run transaction access path analysis with application developers to ensure database design and application code is efficient. Make recommendations for improvements
• Ensures high-quality database design across projects enabling company-wide data reusability
• Coordinate and participate in database stress testing and make recommendations for improvements
• Develops and maintains database standards that fit with ETS standard development processes
• Monitors database performance and tunes were needed
• Identifies and supports quality improvements
• Complies with all ETS security and audit standards
• Participates in 7x24 rotating on-call nights and weekends as needed
• Works well in teams and in the matrix to multiple projects
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• 5-8 years of experience, with at least the last 3-5 years as Lead Oracle DBA on all aspects of Oracle Database Administration in a large/challenging database environment on AWS/Unix / Linux platform.
• Experience on Amazon Web Services or Azure with database support in IaaS or PaaS preferred.
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins) & container technologies (Docker, CoreOS) is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good Linux and Redhat clustering experience and scripting is a plus
• Experience supporting internet/web-based database applications with heavy concurrent user volume.
• Experience working on Oracle 12c and RAC database applications, Oracle TDE, OEM Grid Control, and RMAN
• Skilled in SQL statement tuning with detailed understating of AWR and statspack reports, database performance tuning
• Basic understanding of Connection pooling and middleware software like JBoss, JRun, Tom Cat, IBM Web sphere is desired
• Experience doing database upgrade and maintenance work
• Willingness to work on-call DBA rotations in a 7x24 environment
• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment Proficient at the time and priority management
• Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with both internal associates and external customers
