Title: Oracle DBA
Location: Midvale, UT
Job Description - Responsible for the support of production databases, releases of DB2 (9.x), installing, upgrading and patching DB2 databases. Writes scripts or JCL and tuning complex SQL code. Analyzes and resolve data issues and troubleshoots problems. Maintains databases, ongoing systems technical support, and ensure the integrity of the environment. Participate in all major applications development projects to maintain the integrity of the system architecture. Other duties as assigned.

- Role Overview:
- Client is seeking a candidate to support the DB2 environment.
- The role involves maintaining the current DB2 system, handling daily scripts, performance tuning, and more.
- Upgrading to new versions, running scripts, deploying changes, and managing user administration are part of the responsibilities.
- Experience and Schedule:
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience is preferred.
- The schedule is normal business hours (8 am - 5 pm), with potential for night shifts.
- The team is open to hybrid or preferred onsite work arrangements.
- Technical Skills and Highlights:
- Required skills include DB2 LUW experience, performance monitoring, space management, and database maintenance.
- Familiarity with Rubrik (used with DB2) is a plus.
- Ability to automate tasks using Unix Shell Scripting.
- Strong focus on database security and resolving issues.
- Experience with backup and recovery processes.
- Familiarity with tools like db2pd, db2top, db2advis, and db2explain.
- Exposure to DB2 LUW on both RHEL and AIX is advantageous.
- Knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2 Mainframe is also beneficial.
