Job Summary:
The Orbital System Welder will be responsible for fabricating materials and performing various Orbital
Welding Operations on different metals. The ideal candidate will work on blueprints and hand
drawings, using advanced welding skills to meet the precise specifications required by our
projects.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate materials from blueprints and/or hand drawings using raw materials.
- Orbital Welding Systems set up and operation.
- Perform MIG/TIG welding on Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Cold Rolled Steel for both tubing and sheet metal.
- Notify the Lead, Supervisor, or Management of any issues that could impact the production or quality of parts.
- Complete all assignments in a timely manner, adhering to production delivery schedules.
- Set up pre-fitted parts for welding using hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
- Ensure all welding activities are conducted in compliance with established quality control policies.
- Maintain traceability of materials and finished products by completing necessary documentation.
- Clean and maintain welding equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Adhere to all safety practices and report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
- Ensure all inventory items are accurately logged.
- Conduct measurements and document findings on the First Article Inspection Report as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Orbital Welding and MIG/TIG welding.
- Experience working with Orbital Welder or similar welding equipment.
- Must be welder certified. Candidates must hold a valid welding certification from a recognized certifying body such as the American Welding Society (AWS). Certification must be current and applicable to the welding techniques and materials used in this position.
- Familiarity with welding Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Cold Rolled Steel.
- Ability to interpret and fabricate from blueprints and hand drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and documentation practices.
- Experience in maintaining and operating welding equipment.
- Commitment to safety standards and the ability to identify and report hazards.
- Physical ability to handle heavy equipment and work in various conditions.
