SUMMARY:
Are you interested in improving and shaping the delivery of IT projects industry? We’re seeking an Organizational Change Manager/Business Process Manager who is motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in working with large Information Technology projects in various customer business areas at an Investor-Owned Utility client headquartered in Seattle.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Business Process Management (BPM), Organizational Change Management (OCM), and requirements elicitation to effectively drive these initiatives forward and lay the groundwork for future technology enablement. We are seeking candidates with strong assets and work management background in an electric utility. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with Oracle Work and Asset Management System (WAMS) and/or Work and Asset Cloud Service (WACS) application experience. The ideal candidate will be able to apply BPM Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) and OCM Prosci methodologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather all existing process documentation, place it in each project’s respective document repository, and then through interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs), assess whether documentation is current and complete.
- Update any incorrect or incomplete documentation based on today’s practices.
- Develop future state (to be) process documentation, and where technology dependent, taking into consideration out of the box capabilities of the WACS application and the guiding principle of no customizations.
- Prepare a comprehensive gap analysis between current ("as-is") work and asset management processes and the desired future state, specifically identifying areas where improvements and alignment customers strategic objectives are needed.
- Prepare roadmap to move from as is to future state, specifically identifying business process changes that are not application dependent vs. those that are, and prioritizing based on impact/effort.
- Prepare functional requirements documentation for WACS Phase II technology project.
- Assess the change impact of proposed solutions and identify where there may be resistance or lack of understanding about the goals and objectives of both business processes and technology transitions. The Change Impact Assessment should focus on the readiness to successfully launch the implementation. The Change Management Strategy & Plan should also identify how potential roles and responsibilities may change.
- Develop a preliminary Change Management strategy & plan for technology dependent process changes.
- Prepare, develop, and implement a Change Management Plan including an internal communications plan.
- Consultant shall have day-to-day responsibility and authority for coordinating and delivering the scope of work, including scheduling, and presiding over meetings, design/review approval sessions, providing needed information, coordinating staff and conducting testing of deliverables.
- Conduct stakeholder mapping/segmentation, define what "OCM Hi-Potentials" look like based on their level of influence and assumed change capability, meet with utility business unit leaders to identify "OCM Hi-Potentials" within their org, activate those selected by creating and managing an "OCM Hi-Potential" cross-functional team.
- Work with business stakeholders, process owners and business champions to:
- Monitor progress with weekly status reports and facilitate/attend meetings.
- Transfer knowledge to customers.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on adoption preparation and communication activities.
- Identify, manage, and help mitigate impacts of change.
- Prepare, develop, and implement a comprehensive Training Plan that includes a skills inventory across all impacted stakeholders, high quality training materials, and interactive & measurable training sessions that effectively demonstrate stakeholders have achieved sufficient proficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of experience in Change Management and Business Process Management in the Utility industry.
- 3+ years of experience in applying BPM Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) methodology.
- 3+ years utilizing BPM standards with documenting processes.
- Experience in leading and managing change management initiatives for technology transformations (large-scale Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Cloud implementations preferred).
- Experience working directly with clients and internal teams, following an Agile methodology, to understand the business requirements and assess the change impact(s).
- Ability to identify anticipated points of resistance and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns.
- Experience conducting readiness assessments, evaluating results, and presenting findings in a logical and easy-to-understand manner.
- Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Critical/Analytical Thinking.
