About the Job
We are seeking a full-time Organizational Development Practitioner 3 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for providing professional development guidance to leaders and management by conducting talent reviews, creating development plans, and evaluating progress of high-performers and high-potentials and those placed in talent pools for key positions at Garmin. This position will collaborate with leaders to conduct needs assessments and execute appropriate development outcomes and is closely aligned with HR Generalists, Leadership and Professional Development and leaders in all business segments.
Responsibilities:Essential Functions
- Provides support to business leaders in planning/execution of organization-wide talent reviews and succession development
- Coaches business leaders/associates using the GROW model and a variety of tools (ex. 360 feedback and Disc assessment)
- Analyzes data from talent reviews and partners with Leadership & Professional Development team members to create/evaluate programming based on needs
- Collaborates with HR Generalist team/HR leadership to train, implement, and measure engagement survey outcomes
- Acts as resource for business leaders to identify/implement appropriate intervention methods such as coaching, teambuilding, change management, assessments, etc.
- Supports leaders and HR Generalists in creating associate-leader mentor matches based on skills assessments
- Evaluates career paths and works with leaders to develop behavioral/technical competencies for career development, promotions, and succession planning
- Provides professional development team, HR Generalists, and leaders clear action items and next steps once Talent reviews have been completed
- Provides an excellent customer service experience to associates/business partners
- Uses discernment to apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities
- Develops reliable solutions to a wide range of leadership challenges using sound problem-solving techniques and by asking open-ended questions using the Socratic method
- Exemplifies Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values & Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibits a desire to see Garmin succeed
- Aligns with HR Generalists on performance management and other people management processes at Garmin
- Researches trends and best practices in the field and implements as appropriate while staying current in ability to offer best support for Garmin leaders
- Serves as a resource regarding interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and performance management best practices
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or Effectiveness, Psychology, or related discipline AND a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience OR a Master’s Degree in HR, Organizational Development or related discipline AND a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Demonstrated understanding of HR best practices, structure, and HR business functions
- Proven strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Displayed commitment and passion for developing teams and individuals
- Demonstrated capacity to mentor or train others
- Highly detail oriented with the ability to prioritize/multi-task effectively with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated effective presentation skills and public speaking ability
- Flexibility to travel (up to 10% of the time)
- Must possess previous experience and commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding business and Human Resources matters
- Demonstrated critical reasoning skills and consultative in nature
- Demonstrated ability to leverage business knowledge and HR metrics in decision making
Desired Qualifications
- Masters in OD
- PHR or SPHR certification
- Coaching certifications
- 360 Feedback or Personality Assessment certifications
