As the leading nonprofit, nonpartisan philanthropic partner of the National Park Service, Trust for the National Mall brings expertise, private funding and in-kind support to time-sensitive restoration and sustainability projects, mobilizes volunteers, and provides educational opportunities to ensure that the National Mall endures and evolves as a vibrant space for all. With over 36 million visits annually to the National Mall, combined with aging infrastructure and the need for better visitor amenities throughout the park, the Trust is helping the National Park Service tackle the more than $800 million needed for critical repairs and improvements.

Brief Position Summary
The Organizational Planning and Financial Analyst's primary role is to support the Chief Operating Officer in the annual planning and budgeting processes. At times, this may include support for the Philanthropic Operations team and/or outsourced financial consultant team. The Organizational Planning and Financial Analyst will also work with other members of the organization on a as needed basis.
The Organizational Planning and Financial Analyst must manage their work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The person in this position must be comfortable working within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. A flexible mindset, sense of urgency, ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and willingness to pitch in are highly valued.
This role is in a temporary part-time or internship capacity (10-20 hours per week) until the end of 2024 with the potential for extension into 2025 in a part- or full-time capacity.
Starting Rate is $23/hour.
Responsibilities
- Support the annual planning process for a small nonprofit organization doing big things as we plan for the 250th anniversary of our nation.
- Assist in the planning and organizing of the organizational budgeting process.
- Create simple and minimal tools for department leaders to create annual budgets, in conjunction with our outsourced financial consultants.
- Ensure accurate entry of budget inputs into planning tools.
- Analyze budget submissions for omissions and accuracy.
- Actively participate in building organizational and team culture aligned with the Trust's values.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Skills
- Proficiency with office productivity tools (Office 365 or Google Suite) is required, with an emphasis on Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel (Intermediate or Advanced), and PowerPoint.
- A commitment to integrity and professional ethics in working with confidential financial information as this requires discretion, ethical awareness and strict compliance with privacy and security practices.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting or similar (required).
- Master's degree (MBA, MPA, Finance, or similar) (preferred)
- Degree can be in progress or completed.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of budgeting/planning experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
