Position: Orthodontic Assistant
Location: Bluffdale
Type: Part-Time
Shift: Tuesdays 8am-4pm and Fridays 7:30am-2:30pm

Responsibilities:
- Assist orthodontists during patient appointments, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Prepare treatment areas and arrange instruments and materials required for orthodontic procedures.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care of orthodontic appliances.
- Take and record patient histories, X-rays, and impressions.
- Maintain sterilization and infection control protocols to guarantee patient safety.
- Assist in the placement and removal of braces, wires, and other orthodontic appliances.
- Adjust and maintain orthodontic appliances as instructed by the orthodontist.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage appointment reminders.
- Handle patient inquiries, provide information, and address concerns with a friendly demeanor.
- Maintain organized patient records using our practice management software.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting or orthodontic assisting program preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a dental assistant, with a focus on orthodontics.
- Proficient knowledge of orthodontic instruments, equipment, and procedures.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with dental software and technology.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and a passion for patient care.
