Position Overview:
*Sign-On Bonus Opportunity*
Evaluates and treats patients with disorders of the visual system with an emphasis on binocular vision and eye movements. Diagnoses and works under the direction of the Ophthalmologist. Serves patients of all ages, and because of the nature of many binocular disorders, commonly works in pediatric ophthalmology settings where the majority of patients are children. Provides evaluation, understanding and treatment to children and adults with disorders affecting visual function. Combines diagnostic ability, technical understanding and therapeutic skills.

EDUCATION:
Other: Graduate of a nationally recognized Orthoptic fellowship.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
5 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge, understanding and ability to operate visual testing equipment
Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
Computer skills to include keyboarding, mouse movement and to enter information into electronic health records
Communication skills for frequent and challenging contact with physicians, employees, patients, families; requires patience and compassion
Critical thinking skills as it relates to specialized departments this may include the ability to complete age –appropriate assessments
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks in order to complete assignments within the time allotted and maintains standard workflow
Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions
Ability to process requests quickly, accurately, and consistently with general supervision
Ability to work with others in a flexible and cooperative manner
Ability to learn new functional processes
Customer service skills and professional demeanor

Pay Range is $46.29 to $69.44 / hour
_The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
