About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced OSP Concrete Laborer II to be an important part of our team. The OSP Concrete Laborer II will play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, while actively participating in hands-on work. This role involves preparing sites, mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards. This role is critical in ensuring the successful completion of concrete projects within Cityside Fiber Networks Construction Division. This opportunity sits within Cityside Fiber Networks Construction Division (CFN CX). This team is responsible for all construction activities that have not been completed by general contractors. You will operate in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment and excel in hitting the company’s objectives. To be successful, you will have superior communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand Cityside Fiber’s core purpose and values and be passionate about what we do.
• Clear and prepare sites for concrete work.
• Remove and replace sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.
• Mix, pour, and place concrete for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.
• Install rebar and other reinforcements.
• Apply finishing techniques to achieve a smooth surface.
• Perform repairs on existing concrete structures.
• Maintain and store tools and equipment properly.
• Clean up worksites after project completion.
• Operate construction equipment such as mixers, trowels, and saws.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to construction and concrete work.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, safety protocols and company policies.
• Operate concrete mixing and finishing equipment as needed.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in concrete technology and construction methods.
• Work in and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and integrity with fellow employees to ensure the overall success of Cityside Fiber.
• Be available to perform possible weekend or overtime work depending on project requirements.

Qualifications

• High energy individual who is willing to be an integral part of a high growth service provider who puts people first, dares to be different and has fun disrupting an industry
• High school degree or equivalent practical experience
• 2-3 years of experience in concrete construction, specializing in sidewalks, curbs, and gutters
• Knowledge of construction equipment and materials
• Experience at a telecommunication company or concrete company performing work for telecom companies preferred
• Familiar with Traffic Control Watch Manual and procedures
• Experience communicating to and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Proven history of excellent customer service and ability to build relationships
• Excellent organizational skills- Ability to multi-task and be highly responsive to internal and external clients
• Demonstrated highest level of integrity, intellectual honesty and strong work ethic
• Sharp, analytical, and thoughtful. Has sound judgment and ability to be right a lot
• Consistent effort, intense commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond when needed
• Strong team player, acts like an owner, and ultimately focused on delivering results with high standards
• Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Valid state driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.

Location

Our Headquarters and field offices are located in Irvine. Our local yard is location in Tustin. You will be required to travel to project/customer sites to fulfill job responsibilities.

Compensation

Starting at $27 an hour (actual starting rate may vary based on candidate’s qualifications, skills and years of experience).
