Job Title: Outside Plant Engineer - HiCAP/FTTP
Location(s): Long Island, NY
(Hybrid: Minimum of 2 days a week in office)
JOB DUTIES:
This position is for an Outside Plant Engineer (OSP) to work on the Long Island NY. The LI Design engineers handle multiple wire centers and candidate must be familiar with how to survey and design copper and fiber jobs to include subsurface and aerial designs. Engineering prints will have to be issued in ICGS and sent to our Construction team for them to build. Site Surveys are required throughout the footprint and when needed. candidate will represent Telecommunication as needed when dealing with the customer.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
1. Excellent Communications skills.
2. Understand Outside Plant terminology, equipment and facilities with minimum of 3 years' experience.
3. Must create prints in ICGS for handoff to our Construction team.
4. Must know how to conduct detailed Site Surveys for copper/fiber/pole jobs.
5. Understand how Telecommunication/Hi-CAP is designed and how to bring it into buildings. 1 year experience.
DESIRED SKILLS:
1. A former OSP Engineer who can design in ICGS all Telecommunication/HiCAP jobs.
2. Understand the OSP aerial and underground plant.
3. Understand FIM, iVAPP, vBuild, NTAS, CCP, WFM.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field would be desirable.
