Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Outside Plant Field Inspector is present on OSP construction projects to ensure that the buried and aerial cable is being constructed properly and meeting the project requirements. The field staff will coordinate the various activities on the project and also take detailed field records of the installed cable, pole placement and drops.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
OSP Fiber Planners and Field Inspectors route and determine fiber placement
Reviewing permits and ROW
Overall supervision and project management
Inspecting quality of buried, aerial, pole placement and fiber drops
Recording field records
OSP Field inspector work is split between out in the field.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or QUALIFICATIONS

1-3 years of outside plant construction or telecom experience is preferred
Valid US Driver's license
Ability to read and understand maps, drawings and diagrams for OSP construction
Locator knowledge and experience
Fiber and outside plant knowledge
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
Must be able to sit for periods of time and be able to perform physical activities such as bending, standing, climbing and walking in construction areas
Must be a team player. Must be willing to work with a team to achieve the overall goal and success of the project.
