OSP Lineman - BryComm

We are seeking a Lineman to be part of our Outside Plant Team. This position will be responsible for working with fiber optic and copper cable systems in both new and existing applications.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and repair communications infrastructure.
• Responsible for safe operation of equipment and operations on bucket trucks and digger trucks and in order to construct and maintain communication infrastructure.
• Experienced in the following tasks: new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, lashing, make readies.
• Consistently maintain a professional working attitude with co-workers and customers.
• Maintain an acceptable appearance that positively reflects yourself and the company
• Responsible for training ground hands to safely perform their duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner.
• Confined Space Competent person or willing to be trained for certification
• Responsible for other task as required.
• Understand basic and complex traffic control plans (TCP’s)
• JSA’s and pre-trip inspections, ability to recognize changing conditions as it relates to JSAs

Requirements

• Ability to read prints and other engineering documentation.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in the field.
• Ability to analyze and resolve work challenges.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Have and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to be on a rotating on-call 24/7/365 schedule with other crew members.
• Willingness to work outdoors during extreme heat/cold.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• Vehicle Mounted Aerial Lift Training
  
• Fall protection certification/training

Physical Requirements

• Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs
• Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and climb
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Able to work outdoors during extreme heat/cold for extended periods of time.
