About the role
Job Description
We seek a dedicated individual responsible for planning and coordinating multiple assigned facility maintenance outages. This individual will work closely with their assigned facilities to create detailed task-driven work plans and to develop these into an overall Primavera P6 Schedule, which will be coordinated with other outage planners to ensure consistency across the fleet. They will assign appropriate resources in coordination with the facility and track pre-execution/post-outage progress and lessons learned for reporting purposes. This individual must be able to communicate effectively with the facility and the outage project managers to support the progress of the planning effort and execution.

Job Description

What You'll Do:
Duties/Responsibilities - Report to the Regional Maintenance Manager
- Coordinate the regional master outage schedule with consideration of client needs, Power Purchase Agreements, Service Agreements, client fiscal years, and Turbine Generator outages.
- Collaborate with assigned facility Maintenance Planners on outage schedules while ensuring no regional overlaps occur.
- Work directly with procurement, regional resources, and management to develop and continuously improve the Outage Readiness Index (ORI) process.
- Maintain open communications with Operations concerning all maintenance-related topics, including to all department heads and staff.
- Interface with Procurement and facilities to secure and maintain competent and competitive vendors.
- Develop and monitor outage scopes of work with field-based personnel based on the LTMP process.
- Contribute to the completion of Post Outage Summaries with improvement actions forward.
- Identify any changes in cost and schedule forecast and balance resources for producing or delivering project deliverables.
- Assist in coordinating and facilitating the Long-Term Maintenance Plan review and revision as part of the annual budgeting.
- Complete Project Progress, Status reports, and other required reports.
- Mentor and promote the development of the NJ Planners and Maintenance Managers
What You'll Bring:
Requirements (Education, Skills, Certificate, Licenses, Experience):
- Minimum ten years experience in industrial boiler/pressure part construction, maintenance, and repairs.
- A high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to read and understand instructions, training, safety, health-related materials, and work rules.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to represent the company to external parties and work with many diverse interested parties within the company.
- Advanced understanding of EfW plant equipment, operations, and hazards, including the effects of changing plant conditions.
- Knowledge of computerized Maintenance Management systems and how they interact across all Reworld Waste (Covanta) business aspects. Proficiency in Covanta's current system is a plus.
- Ability to learn Covanta financials and how they are used to plan, budget, and forecast maintenance spending, both Expense and CapEx.
- Prior supervisory or lead responsibility experience regarding job setup, labor management, and progressing work to owner/ client.
- Strong computer skills, primarily with Microsoft Office products. Specific experience using MS Projects, Primavera, or similar planning programs.
- Ability to read and understand design drawings/ shop fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge/ experience of Lean Six Sigma is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- The ability to travel approximately 20-30% is a requirement of this role
- Ability to participate in Covanta training and obtain certifications for site visits, free unattended access to all parts of facilities, and is qualified to enter the boiler train during an outage.
- Physical condition to pass cardiopulmonary testing for full-face respirator use.
- Ability to climb scaffolding, access ways in boilers, and frequently use stairs and ladders.
