About the Job
Accountabilities
1. Reviews prescriptions issued by physician, or other authorized prescriber, to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
2. Compounds medications using standard formulas and proper aseptic technique.
3. Oversees pharmacy technicians engaged in preparing and packaging prescription orders.
4. Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy patients on drug interactions, adverse effects, dosage/storage/administration of medications, and other appropriate measures to ensure safe, effective use of medication.
5. Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, controlled substances (where applicable), and disposal of medications.
6. Enters data and maintains patient profile including patient name, prescribed medication, cost, insurance billing, and medication fulfillment.
7. Telephonic customer service working with patients, physicians, insurance companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, patient assistance programs, and others as necessary.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree

License: Must be a registered pharmacist, licensed in good standing in the state of practice or license eligible.
