SSTAR is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment Programs, including the HRSA LRP.
The Outreach Services Coordinator oversees all outreach events and training initiatives through The Women’s Center. This is a part time position, requiring approximately 5 - 10 hours per week.
Duties & Responsibilities
Outreach Coordination:
- Oversee outreach efforts to increase awareness of Women’s Center services.
- Working in collaboration with the Program Director and Women’s Center staff and volunteers organize outreach efforts, including tabling events and special activities for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
- Collaborate on cross-training and education events with community partners.
General Responsibilities:
- Attend and complete required training provided per MGL 233, 20k; to work as a domestic violence advocate. Provide leadership, education, and support for other SSTAR programs in understanding these parameters and guidelines.
- Maintain professional boundaries and work collaboratively with Women’s Center staff and other SSTAR Programs, including victim service advocates and other community-partners.
- Maintain confidential client documentation and adhere to protocols for client confidentiality, as outlined in MGL 233, sec 20K, SSTAR policies and practices, and other guidelines as required.
- Receive direct supervision from the Director of the Women’s Center on client matters, on maintaining appropriate records, on producing reports, and other matters as needed.
- Report suspected incidents of abuse to DCF, Elder Services, and DPPC as appropriate, working with the Director to complete mandated reports from a client-centered, empowerment perspective.
- Provide education and outreach, participate in SSTAR Women’s Center program events, and attend all Women’s Center Group Supervision Meetings and trainings as required by the Director of the Women’s Center.

Required Experience:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (may be waived for relevant, comparable level of work or life experience).
- Prior experience in working with domestic violence, complex trauma, and/or crime victims.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Facility with computers and database systems, including data entry and extraction.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and compassionate when working with clients and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with other professionals, maintain appropriate boundaries, and provide leadership.
- Sensitivity to diversity issues and a commitment to cultural competency.
