About the Job
South East Ace, Inc. Is looking for a self-motivated individual of high character to join our sales team as an outside sales representative, with a primary focus on driving Paint Department sales in the Greater Columbia Market utilizing the product portfolio of Benjamin Moore paints along with competitively priced paint supplies and sundries. This individual will be responsible for applying product knowledge as a trusted advisor for professional Contractors in order to provide profitable and sustainable execution of market share growth in the general Columbia market.
We are looking for an individual who provides the qualities as follows:
- Relationship oriented: Customer-focused approach to driving paint and paint supply sales, utilizing relationships to build trust and loyalty to South East Ace and the Benjamin Moore Brand.
- Willingness to learn: Taking advantage of both online and in-person training to improve technical knowledge of products to better advise product placement
- Driven/Self-Motivated: someone who does not shy away from lofty goals, but rises to the occasion with outstanding work ethic and perseverance to assist customers and uncover new opportunities/relationships.
- Proactive in the approach to increasing sales with an aggressive mindset.
- Team focused: Willingness to work as a team with in-store staff. This requires collaboration of ideas, communication and active listening to grow business.
Responsibilities:
- Establishing a reputation as a trusted advisor for Benjamin Moore products and other Ace-backed products to assist customers with the right products, at the right time.
- Developing relationships with customers to maintain, grow and acquire business to drive growth of Paint Department sales
- Cold calling customers both via phone leads and through job site visits in order to establish and grow business relationships.
- Orchestrate different incentives and learning opportunities for customers alongside other Vendors to educate and support customers
- Increase paint department sales by utilizing value propositions and solution-based selling in order to cultivate sustainable business and relationships.
- Willingness to handle conflict on job sites in order to earn trust and support from customers.
- Qualify the right business customers that offer sustainable, profitable business for South East Ace.
Qualifications
- Communication skills: Ability to communicate publicly (one on one and group), with excellent listening skills, and comfortability with negotiation
- Comfortable with “Cold Calling” and approaching prospective customers at job sites to establish relationships and drive business.
- Self-Motivated with understanding of accountability
- Fluency with Microsoft, and ability to use Excel
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ideal Candidate will reside in the greater Columbia area
- Ability to travel daily within the territory both to meet with contractors as well as deliver paint/supplies to customers.
- Effective decision making and analysis of different situations/problems
