About the Job
The Parts Sales Representative is responsible for effectively maximizing profitability and service of selling trailer parts within assigned Great Dane Trailer sales territory in accordance with targets pertaining to inventory, stock availability, and customer needs. They negotiate pricing, provide information about the competitive marketplace and establish long term relationships with customers.
Responsibilities:• Visiting customers on a regular basis.
• Insuring customers have all information on our sales programs, including pricing,
• products, promotions, contract and special pricing.
• Consultative sales calls: understanding our customers business, devising plans to help our customers succeed, facilitating the plans, managing the process.
• Developing relationships with all key customer employees, especially Branch and
• general managers, parts managers and service managers.
• Developing a thorough understanding of assigned marketplace.
• Prospecting for new customers and opportunities.
• Working closely and developing relationships with all branch staff and other
• support personnel.
• Ongoing education and training of self in our industry, products, systems and processes.
• Attaining and surpassing all GDAP sales objectives and other assigned objectives.
• Relaying all required information to the parts manager.
• Developing relationships with suppliers as needed.
• Maintaining the highest degree of ethical conduct in all relationships.
• Maintaining positive attitude and conduct in all relationships.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the aftermarket parts industry
• Excellent Customer Service and telephone communication skills.
• Mechanical and job related knowledge of trailer repairs.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
• Strong ability to prioritize and organize multiple priorities.
• Personable to work with company employees, vendors and customers.
• Mechanical background.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems.
• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
• Capable of lifting heavy parts-on occasion up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work in an environment of varied temperature changes.
