Our Midwest service center located in Alsip, Illinois is currently seeking an experienced, dedicated, and dynamic Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Sales Representative. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
- Identify potential new accounts through various channels including cold calling, emailing, company-provided lead lists, industry events, and networking with a focus on the stainless steel market.
- Effectively communicate RMP’s value proposition of the products and services we offer to potential customers.
- Schedule regular on-site meetings with current and potential customers.
- Represent RMP at various industry-related trade shows and events.
- Work closely with the Sales Manager and marketing team to align business development strategies with overall company goals.
- Regularly update Sales Manager on progress of converting leads into customers.
- Utilize CRM software to track and report on sales activities and conversion metrics.
- Contribute to a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
- Adhere to all RMP’s safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Adhere to all RMP’s handbook policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field
- Minimum two years of experience as a sales representative within the metals industry with a focus on stainless steel preferred
- Goal-orientated with proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers
- Valid State Driver’s License; safe driving record
